Everest
Canada
"Climb for Hope" |

We just arrived home
from the top of the world on Mount Everest. The Habitat was a
safe haven for us. We really needed it in the middle of nowhere.
They are fantastic tents. The best "large" tents I've ever used.
It held off 100-120kph wind gusts, no problem. Snow would fall
off it effortlessly. The colours were cheerful, light and bright,
a perfect match to the incredibly bright environment we were in.
The material was bomb proof. The door fit "right". We enjoyed
and loved your tent without reservation. We were able to erect
it in 30 minutes and tear it down in only 20.
Thanks for a superb
product. You have a real winner

Just a quick letter
here to thank you for the Habitat tents you have provided Broland
Enterprises Inc. with over the past two years. They have replaced
all the canvas tents we labouriously set up at each camp we ran.
The 19' x 35' Long
Habitats that we purchased were set up in a matter of half an
hour with four people. The free standing concept eliminated
hole digging and countless guidelines. With the high roofs they
were very spacious. We could easily seat a fifty man camp at
meal time.
They are easy to
transport and very durable. We plan to be able to use ours for
some years yet. We will certainly be using the Habitat design
for all our camps in the upcoming years.
Thanks Again

This is just a short
letter to let you know how pleased our crews were with the 16'
Habitat we purchased from you early this spring.
The tent withstood
snow, rain and helicopter rotor-wash and the crews appreciated
the head room and spacious interior, which we filled with all
the gear we had. I would suggest that anyone contemplating purchasing
a Habitat should consider the 16' model as the appropriate size
for a 2-3 man crew, with two tables, 2 sets of bunks, a stove
and enough equipment for a 3-6 week stay, as we did.
One unexpected bonus
of the Habitat design was the ability to repair it in a modular
fashion after a black bear decided to use its claws to make
another door in one of the panels. The Habitat is now as good
as new and back to its original shape.
Thank you for expediting
our order in the spring, John, it made our work for Ontario
Hydro that much easier and the crews appreciated the comfortable
accommodation after a hard days work on the river.
Yours very Truly

The purpose of this
letter is to tell you how well the Habitats have gone over with
our visitors this summer. As you know we installed four 16' Habitats
in the Mew Lake Campground located on Highway 60 and two at both
our Achray and Kiosk Access Points located on the east and north
side of the park respectively.
The most popular
area has been Mew Lake where visitors had a chance to see them
being set up earlier this summer. With this exposure, the Habitats
have been running at 85% occupancy rate at Mew Lake. Lower occupancy
rates were experienced at the Access Points but this is mainly
due to far less exposure and no advertising. I contend that
if the Habitats had the same exposure as at Mew Lake their occupancy
rates would be similar.
We put a questionnaire
together to get reaction and comments from those staying in
these Habitats. As you can see from the attached table, at least
90% graded the Habitat either good or very good with an overall
grading of 4.6 with 5 being the highest grade.
We also received
the following comments from those who stayed in a Habitat.
"Excellent for
families"
"Shelter was very
good--items supplied were just right"
"It is a wonderful
idea. We hope the Park gets some more"
"Will use again
next year--put up more"
"There should be
more of these accommodations--gives people without camping equipment
(eg. from abroad) a chance of experiencing the Park"
"Very nice overall--we
could not fit a tent and all camping equipment in our car this
was great"
With some promotion
and time for word-of-mouth to circulate we can expect close
to 100% occupancy rate next summer.
Thank you John for
your help to get this project off the ground with your quick
delivery of the Habitats and helping us make some minor improvements.
To this point, the Habitat project is seen as a instant success.
Sincerly

In our camp
at Bete, 250 km north of Addis Ababa in Central Ethiopia...we
were amazed and thrilled that it went together and up so easily.
It had to withstand
some very active winds. Quite large "Wind Devils", mini-hurricanes,
were a common phenomenon moving through our valley. Before I
could furnish it as the administrative office, the medical staff
demanded it for a surgical centre.
It was bright inside,
it had windows which can be closed against dust (and rain),
it had a sturdy latchable door, it was sturdy enough to protect
the surgical trays and equipment set up inside.
"We thought it was
a superb piece of equipment."

The three
Long Habitats we purchased were great. With the amount of rain
we had we would not have survived without them. Our old canvas
tents would still be drying.
The fact that it
was free standing meant no damage to the archeological site
we were camping on. I would recommend the "Habitat" to anyone
for recreation or work in the outdoors.
